Not Me! Monday
Come join me on this free therapy Monday. Get comfy on the couch and get prepared to confess all the things we did I did
She was
I was not saddened by the fact that my husband forgot Valentine's Day and didn't even get me so much as a card. (**I am NOT, seriously, trying to make him feel guilty for this, I know that he works long and hard hours to provide for our family**) Andrew did not make up for this sadness by making me a homemade card when we got home from grandma and grandpa's house. He is my super sensitive guy and really seems to take after my dad, who always spoiled my mom.
Alexis did not make us all laugh at the grandparents' house when she had the following conversation with grandma:
Grandma: Are you J-E-A-L-O-U-S? Alexis: No, I am A-L-E-X-I-S
I am not happy that today is a non-school day since it is raining pretty hard right now. I do not enjoy sitting around with my kiddos, all of us in our jammies till noon, when it is yucky outside.
Alexis did not make me laugh really hard this morning when she woke up asking what we are suppose to do to celebrate Presidents' Day. She was hoping this celebration included exchanging gifts and getting more chocolates and candies. This girl has a one track mind, SWEETS!
HAPPY PRESIDENTS' DAY! Don't forget to stop on in at MckMama's blog to read what other moms are not doing. Better yet, join in the fun and have a free therapy session where you can download about all the things you have never done.

Not Me! Monday and Smoke Detector Sensitivity

I did not, while taking a luke warm shower (seriously, Dale's are 10x hotter then mine), set off the fire alarm in our bedroom. The alarm is not so sensitive that it would be triggered by the steam from the shower. This could not have all been avoided had I turned the exhaust fan on instead of leaving it off to hear what the kids were doing. I did not call for Andrew when I heard the high pitched noise to ask if there truly was a fire somewhere and then get bummed out that it was just a false alarm that was interrupting my few moments of peace. I did not get out of the shower with conditioner still in my hair and soap all over so I could fan the smoke detector to turn it off and then get back in the shower, turning the exhaust fan on of course, so I could finish my business. Needless to say I have not done that again and I did not entertain for a short moment the thought of just taking the alarm out so I could continue enjoying my luke warm showers with the exhaust fan off. That would just be reckless mommy behavior if I had wanted to do that. Thank goodness for technology that keeps us safe, but does it have to be so darn sensitive??
Moving on from that traumatic event that did not happen. I did not praise my doggy, Suzy Q, for having no accidents in the house since the big move, only to walk into Alexis' room moments later and step into a warm wet puddle. I did not proceed to clean it up all while muttering under my breath how she was on thin ice and better watch what she does or she is out. After cleaning it up I did not decide to take the time to reorganize all of Alexis' toy bins. After putting everything in it's proper place I did not proceed to take pictures of each bin so I can print them and tape them to the front of the bin so she will remember where everything goes. I am not tired of resorting them every time I help her clean. After said cleaning/sorting marathon I did not proceed to walk down the hallway toward the living to relax and get stopped dead in my tracks when I stepped in yet another warm wet puddle. YOU DARN DOG!!! Suzy Q did not spend the majority of the remainder of that day out on the deck in the cold wind. And yes, Andrew had done his job and was taking her out consistently that day, she just thought my carpet was more inviting then the grass for some reason. She better snap out of it.
We did not spend hours this week watching home videos and converting them to DVDs. This was not extremely fun but depressing at the same time. Fun to remember all the funny things the kids do, but depressing to see my weight changes morph before me and the reminder that I have not pulled out the video camera once since Aiden came home from the hospital. I have some 'video' time on my digital camera, but nothing like the hours clocked on Andrew and Alexis when they were little. We did not run out right away and buy 6 new tapes and still have not used them to document what Aiden is now doing. I am sure he will be in therapy for years to come since he has 'third child syndrome.'
Ok, I am not procrastinating on the laundry as we speak so I can write all about the things I did not do this past week. Hope everyone does not have a wonderful Monday and remember to not join in the fun by heading over to MckMama's blog for the easy to follow rules.

Quick "Not Me!" Monday

This will be short and sweet and to the point today since I am crazy busy with packing and appointments today. MckMama is not having Not Me Monday today due to Stellan (her little MckMuffin) being sick and in the hospital. Please keep him in your prayers.
*I did not enjoy the hours of arm free time when everyone kept offering to hold Aiden at my in-laws house.
* I did not have ALL the Christmas decorations packed up and stored before 1:00 pm Christmas day. I of course settled in on that day and relaxed and did not rush around packing a gazillion boxes.
*I did not give Dale a guilt trip over his lack of participation in the packing and moving even though I know that he is not feeling well. I did not give him an ultimatum to either help me paint the new kitchen or get off the couch and go to urgent care to find out what is wrong. The man who NEVER goes to the doctor did not choose to go to urgent care to only find out that he does not have a serious sinus infection with all the bells and whistles. I did not feel guilty for forcing him to go to the doctor but glad that he is hopefully on track to feeling better before the big move on Saturday.
*I did not feel sad when my stocking was empty, minus the voucher for a free vacuuming, compliments of my caring 9 year old son. I guess when we agreed to not give each other gifts, Dale figured he was off the hook on the stocking too. That's my favorite part. Hopefully next year he will put some effort into that.
*I did not forget to buy oranges for the kids stockings this year. I have always put one in their stocking since I was always given one as a child. How could this have slipped my mind? Too much going on right now.
*I did not spend Sunday working in the nursery, to end up only having my kid in there. I could have watched him from the comfort of my own house instead of him being the only one there and grouchy in this forgein place.
*My family will not be happy when this whole move is over so they don't have to deal with grouchy mom who tries to pack everything in sight. So far they have avoided being shoved in a box, taped, and labeled.
Well, I have taken a long enough break. Must get back to packing before I have to leave for my next appointment of the day in about an hour. Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe New Year's celebration.

Most Certainly Not Me! Monday
YEAH!!! It's Monday again. Time to fess up to all the things I most certainly did NOT do this past week. Head on over to MckMama's blog to check out what other moms most certainly are NOT doing either.*When making a pot roast stew this week and being distracted by an adorable 9 month old, I most certainly did NOT start peeling the potatoes into the crock pot instead of into the sink.
*I most certainly did NOT then grab the peelings out of the crock pot quickly and not mention it to anyone till after they had eaten a most scrumptious dinner.
*I most certainly did NOT dump a dozen peach flavored puffs directly on the kitchen floor so that said adorable nine month old would give me about 5 minutes of peace to finish throwing the meal together.
*I most certainly did NOT pull over to the side of the road and kick my mom out of the car to walk to David's house instead of driving her the few blocks directly to his house because I was already 15 mins late getting the kids to church for their play practice. What kind of daughter would kick their mom out of the car? Hey, at least I slowed down before I most certainly did not do that. And it was a most beautiful day when I most certainly did not do that. And she did want to get a good morning walk in when I most certainly did not do that. Ok, enough of that. Now I am starting to sound like I am justifying why I did something that I most certainly did not do.
*I most certainly did NOT panic when the washer at our new place would not stop filling with water, creating a waterfall effect off the patio and into the neighbor's yard below. Of course I was calm, cool, and collected the entire time as I tried to muscle the water valve into the off position to just make it stop. I most certainly did NOT go knocking on my neighbors' doors to find a man home who could lend me his muscles. And they most certainly do NOT all think there is a crazy woman moving into unit #2100. I did NOT take my husband back over to the place later that night when he got home from a long day at work (even though he had the chills and major headache) to show him what was happening to then have the washer work perfectly fine. UGH!! I felt like I was in a twilight zone.
*I most certainly did NOT cry when I saw what my sister and her friend Hilda had done to our new place while we were gone at church. The LAYERS of grime (a house full of football players lived there before us) were gone from the bathrooms and kitchen. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I was dreading having to clean the entire place while juggling packing and having some sense of a normal Christmas this week.
*And lastly, I most certainly did NOT jump up and down (well, not literally, but internally) when my sister offered to take Alexis to her house in San Diego for the next few days so that we can all have a little peace from my very free spirited little girl. Aiden won't know what to do with himself when she isn't touching him ALL day long or trying to put bows in his hair. Andrew won't know what to do without her constantly destroying his lego creations and trashing his room intentionally to make him mad. And I won't know what to do without her constantly whining, touching everything and stomping down the hall during the crucial nap times. Can you say middle child syndrome? I love her dearly, but we are all looking forward to a few days break from it all. She WILL most certainly be missed!
Hope you all have a wonderful week. Join in the Not Me! Monday fun. Trust me, it is very therapeutic. (And why does that word sound weird to me today, like puke? I most certainly do NOT have a nine year old who is into talking about bodily functions too much, at the dinner table no less).

"Not Me!" Monday
Here we are at my favorite blogging day of the week. Where I can confess all the things I have NOT done this week. So here we go....*I did not just smell a stinky diaper a little bit ago, look at the clock, calculate the hours, and determine that it would be WAY too long to let him sit in it till Dale came home. No such luck getting out of this one.
*I did not eat a snowman cookie for breakfast, while telling my kiddos they needed to finish their cereal because they needed to have a quality breakfast to fuel their brains before they went to school.
*I did not go to our new place this past week, measure every room, and then proceed to come home and make a small scale model of all my furniture so I could figure out where everything is going to go. And this whole adventure most certainly did not cause my husband to go to bed by himself while I stayed up to finish just one more thing.
*I did not get a phone call on Thursday informing me that Aiden has a cleft team appointment today that I had no idea about. This did not cause a major panic to get insurance approval and pre-authorizations before today's appointment, as well as rearranging schedules and getting childcare for the other kiddos. Seems as if the only people who knew about this appointment were the cleft team. When was this appointment made? Love the fact that we get to go, but frustrated that they just arbitrarily get scheduled without regard to our lives and schedules. (update to come after today's appointment) When I asked at the last PS appointment when he would need to be seen by the team again, we were told that he would be seen around his 1st birthday. We thought we had till March for our next team appointment. Let's just hope and pray that this team meeting isn't as disappointing as all the other ones. We hope that everyone will be there that we want to see and that we don't waste a bunch of time.
*Aiden did not get dressed in a pair of pjs Saturday night, wear them all day Sunday, go to bed in them last night still and is now napping in them at 8:30 this morning. He will be bathed and changed when he wakes up from his nap. This mommy would never allow her baby to stay in the same clothes for over 36 hours.
*I do not feel better now that I have gotten that all off my chest.
Head on over to MckMama's blog and check out what other moms are not doing. Join in the fun and post your own "Not Me!" Monday.

"Not Me!" Monday
Well, it is Monday again, so here is a whole new list of things I most certainly did not do this week.
*I did not leave 4 loads of laundry piled on my couch for 2 days, promising to get to them as soon as possible. Of course every piece of clothing in my house is promptly folded and hung up the second it emerges from the drier, so as to prevent wrinkling.
*I did not have my daughter wear the same pair of socks two days in a row to school because she didn't have any more clean socks. All laundry is cleaned the minute it hits my laundry room floor.
*I did not enjoy watching my son march in his first band parade and get complete upset when my wonderful (roll eyes) camera couldn't focus fast enough to catch him whizzing on by with the rest of the band. UGH!! I would never throw a fit in front of other grown adults.
*I did not tell the neighbors I still needed more newspapers for packing just so I could get the coupons out of their Sunday paper they NEVER read.
*I did not cook brownies and biscuits this weekend just to warm up the house since our heater is not working. And Dale is not procrastinating on getting it fixed because he likes me making the brownies I most certainly did not make to heat the house up.
*I did not dye my hair reddish since I know that my husband prefers blonde. I did not do this just because I could and really wanted a change of scenery. I did not come to regret that decision and wish that I had just done what my husband preferred, that would be admitting I was wrong and he was right about what hair color looks best on me.
*I did not catch my mom getting caught up in a renting scam from Nigeria. The fact that such people exist and do such awful things does not make me angry that they almost pulled one over on her. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. And come on people, work on your grammar and punctuation if you are going to present yourself as educated Americans working in Nigeria for our governement.
*I am not currently ignoring chores around the house just to spend time posting all the things I did not do this past week.
I am sure there are many other things I did not do this week. To check out what other people have not done this week, head on over to MckMama's blog. Also check out how awesome she is doing on her Rebel For a Cause donation drive. And, don't just check it out, join in!! Hope everyone does not have a blessed week!!

Not Me Monday!

This is my first attempt at confessing all the things I did NOT do this past week. Check out other posting at MckMama's site
I most certainly did not have my almost 9 month old sit in a poopy diaper till Daddy got home 20 minutes later, and then pretend it had just happened and that I was too busy preparing dinner, could he please change it. I would never do such a torturous thing to my baby and to my husband.
I also did not help both of my children clean their rooms, threatening that Santa would not visit if they had such messy rooms. I did not sit there and secretly throw away all the silly McD toys that seem to multipy in their toy bins. And, I most certainly did not claim ignorance when they later asked for one of those silly toys.
I did not get a sense of immense pleasure watching my 9 yr old and 4 year old run around the house asking what they could do next because they want to be on the "Super good boy and girl list." Where would they have come up with such a thing? And I have not perpetuated that myth and used it towards my advantage each day this past week. Of course that wasn't me who allowed my 4 year old to vacuum her own room and then convinced the 9 year old that vacuuming the living room would help him earn browny points. What kind of mother would have their kids vacuuming for them? NOT me!
I did not sit around depressed in my pjs all day on Thursday that we were not celebrating Thanksgiving till Saturday. The plan was set to include my husband in the festivities on his day off, so of course I was not sad that everyone else was eating turkey while we were not. I did not sulk around until my husband turned on a movie that I would like to watch instead of a movie the whole family would have loved. I am much too mature to do something so childish.
I did not ignore two phone calls from friends, knowing they would take 30 mins each, when what I really wanted to do was blog about something. Blogging has in no way taken over my life and my friends are way too important to be ignored. There is no way I did that!
Well, that is all I can remember about the things I most certainly did not do this past week. On to a new week of things I will not do.
